The Lord's Prayer

"What Jesus said, translating accurately and cleanly from the Greek in which it was originally recorded was . . . "

By Don "Moby Dick" Jacobs

"Our Father who lives in the heavens,

Let your name be honored,

Let your kingdom come,

Let your will be done

down here on earth

as perfectly as it is in the sky."

About Don "Moby Dick" Jacobs

"Moby Dick" served as a Methodist Minister for a decade.  While in seminary he specialized in the languages from which the Bible was originally translated.  Later he became an astrologer.  Through his vast knowledge, he discovered the often intentional mis-translations.

In his now out-of-print book, Astrology's Pew in Church, he meticulously points to the passages that are incorrectly translated, especially those that pertain to astrology.  Astrologers were in fact, highly honored.  The Wise Men were astrologers as were many others!  Sadly, King James was very biased in his beliefs, and is largely responsible by demanding the Bible be translated to match his beliefs - not honoring the original text.  As "Moby Dick" notes, in the Lord's Prayer the original referenced the heavens  -- in essence calling forth "as above, so below" within this prayer.

He also notes that one of the best translations, holding truest to the original language is the New English Bible.  It was published in 1970 and is now out of print.  The Revised Edition is not the same.
